"Sinkie Pie," doodled based on some goofing around between me and a friend on Discord while talking about MLP and Sonic recolor OCs. Has some flaws, so I'd be open to redrawing this one day.
Design/color concepts for a Sonic OC based on the sheep from Sonic Adventure 2 and the parts chao gain from it. Mostly just exploring color combos, since the sheep doesn't have consistent colors.
The text says all that needs to be said, aside from that this is a Sonic OC concept, and this character would likely be female.
Doodle of a Sonic OC design idea- something I made accidentally while trying to make a different design. I liked the feel of this one. Reminds me of things, like Senpai from Friday Night Funkin, just a little. No idea what animal this guy is.
Concept for an ".exe" form of my OC, Athens, with inspiration taken from the Souls from the FNF Sonic.exe mod, along with a sketch of a self-insert scenario of said OC and Eggman Soul from said Sonic.exe FNF mod.
I like to imagine Eggman helps comfort and motivate her, and Athens looks up to him for staying strong despite the bleak situation.
The design of the exe form is based in symbolism reflecting some of my own issues, such as fear of insects and being very emotionally vulnerable.
Doodled based off of a random idea that came to mind- Eggman stealing Mario's hat. Tried to make the text look clean. This is something I'd like to revisit and try to finish.
Concept for a Tails parallel to the "Ashura" glitch/character, based on things shown on the TCRF page for Sonic 2.
Name comes from some research I did into what an "ashura" is- I chose another concept from the same origin to make them connected. May redesign him one day.
Unfinished sketch of an original character design of mine. Kind of abstract design, taking different traits and putting them together, sometimes when they don't belong where they were placed. Kinda ice-based, and the idea behind this is the character's hooves are surrounded by ice crystals blasting out from each step.
May turn this into a finished piece one day.
Sketch involving Sonic and Eggman from last Christmas season that I never finished in time. Used a chainsaw instead of some kind of machine because that's what the idea that popped into my head involved. Originally was some kind of joke involving "All I Want for Christmas is You" and wanting to kill someone.
Concept doodles for "Mean Girls"-esque Sonic OCs, with emphasis on girly colors and glitter/iridescence.
(Ignore the cat having massive jugs, I was going for a "bimbo" theme)
Concept doodle of a Sonic OC based on sprites from one of the releases of Dynamite Dux (game that inspired Bean the Dynamite,) some design elements specifically being from sprite misinterpretations.
Sonic OC concept explorations I doodled during my last burst of playing Sonic Adventure DX. Mainly was just trying to make unique designs akin to the diversity of Sonic characters from the classic and Adventure eras.
The guy on the bottom is supposed to be a cobra.
OC concept design sketch. Based on some ideas from people I used to talk to. He's a scraggly rogue cat with a magic tome.
I may redraw this one day to be closer to what I had imagined.
Sonic OC design concept doodles/sketches, text explains it. They're a duo- partnered or just parallel, I haven't decided. I don't have an explanation for why they hunt the other's species- or why they hunt animals at all, being animals themselves.
Doodle of a redesign/alternate take on an old OC of mine, "Dark Celebi." Took inspiration from the Grunt enemy from Amnesia: the Dark Descent for the arms. I also was experimenting with a different art style when drawing this.
Concept doodles of a humanized Heavy Magician from Sonic Mania, which I'd considered for a while but never drew until I was suddenly struck by an idea for her hairstyle.
Might revisit this design one day.
Shared this to /sthg/ during my first, and so far only, visit.
Doodle drawn on a whim, based on a random image that popped into my head in the middle of the night.
Pobably the first time I genuinely experimented with blending layers and the pencil tool, mimicking stuff I'd seen in other artstyles. Didn't do well since it was a low-effort doodle.
Gift I made for a friend! One of his Slime Rancher OCs- a big Tarr with a crown, ruling over the Indigo Quarry. Goes by the name of King Sludge.
Said friend was actually inspired by an OC of mine when he made this character, and that's actually how we met- he talked to me because he liked my art, and we just ended up interacting more and goofing around.
He's created a redesign of the character recently, so this is the old design.
Little pixel art animation created as an experiment involving small canvas size.
Doodle of a raccoon-wolf hybrid kind of creature, created because I wanted to draw something based on a scenario that happened when I was a little kid.
I was on a website for making art with other people, similar to those whiteboard sites but around the early 2010's. Someone drew a stylized raccoon, and I called it a "wolfie." I was soon corrected.
I wanted to draw something that captured that idea of a "wolfie" raccoon.
Little shitposty doodle sketch of Eggman Soul from the Sonic.exe FNF mod. Not quite sure why I drew this. The text was a quick, contextless addition.
This guy has you cornered in an alley wyd 🗿
Doodles to try fleshing out a Spongebob "AU" idea I had. (I would call it a less fandom-y/cringey word but I don't know what else to call it)
Ignore the way Spongebob himself looks, I'm not good at drawing him.
Wanted to doodle Scorpius from Sonic Spinball, ended up adding more to it than originally anticipated. Tried to go for a retro kind of look with the background, though I am unsure if I successfully captured it.
Triple Trouble shitpost doodle comic based on that video with the kid screaming "MEOW" into his microphone. Used the Tails jumpscare portrait because it was lazy (read: funny)
Based Xeno on his appearance in You Can't Run because I like that design.
Don't ask why Eggman Soul looks like he smelled a fart in the second image 🗿
Some doodles done in an attempt to practice background elements, trying to implement advice I had heard- keep backgrounds simple, and...well, the other was actually a guide on pixel art bushes/trees, but it works for regular art too.
Accidentally went too hard with the effects and such on the bottom doodle.
Doodles of Steven Universe OC design ideas- specifically, what Spinels owned by different members of the Diamond Authority may look like.
Done to death, I know, but I had felt the urge to doodle up some ideas.
Likely would be within a pre-Era 3 context.
White Spinel is not treated well.
The first real thing I made with Aseprite after purchasing it. Used the default palette, since I couldn't figure out how to change it. Technically part of miscellaneous concept art for a thing I'll mention eventually on this blog.
Doodles of redesign ideas of old Eeveelution OCs I made in elementary school. I have a work-in-progress sketch of a better design of the one on the right in the works.
Doodle concept for a "Metal Sonic" version of the UTAUloid, Kasane Teto. Drawn because I was considering making a Sonic-related song at the time, with vocals sung by Teto. Didn't go through with it (...at least, not yet,) but this came out of that idea.
Simple edit of images of the Amy character chao from the Sonic Adventure games, conceptualized as "divergent subspecies" from the original Amy chao, each based on a different love interest for Sonic: Elise and Madonna, respectively.
Despite how simple these look, they took a lot of effort on my end, and all that resulted was some lackluster image edits. I'd have been better off learning Blender and making model edits, methinks.
Sketch of Espeon and Umbreon, which I originally planned to turn into a finished drawing, but ran out of motivation to continue working on it. The likely reason is that I'm not entirely pleased with the sketch.
(I may be too much of a perfectionist when it comes to my own work sometimes, to my own detriment.)
Doodles of a concept for a chao-inspired hoodie, based entirely on items like the Chao Key and Chao Box from SA2. Includes the original sketch and a rework of the hood, because I originally made the color of the hood's base different than it was in the sweatshirt part of the sketch.
Also shared this to /sthg/ once.
Doodle page of a conceptual "Metal Sonic" version of the vocaloid Flower (featuring interpretations based on both her "goth" design and "tomboy" design,) similar to the Metal Teto thing.
Doodle/sketch comic I did on a whim, because I was trying to get down an idea I had. Forgive me if Knuckles' dialogue seems off in the first panel.
Eggman just wants to trick Knuckles into paying for dinner.
Probably my first time making actual backgrounds for something, even if it is a sketch and very simplistic backgrounds.
Doodle based on the song Color & Electricity by muship, done with a pen and a piece of cardboard-type material. Made a few mistakes, as expected when working with a pen and no plan.
May use something similar to this as cover art for a...well, cover, that I may do eventually.
Doodle of a concept design that I accidentally ended up turning into a finished piece. This was actually my first time doing shading like this, and I really liked how it turned out. Might redraw it one day.
Drawing created in an attempt to emulate the Flipnote limitations/style, down to using the exact canvas size and recreating the pattern brushes to feel more authentic. Alternate shading included.
Still drawn in the MediBang Paint mobile app, like most of my art.
May redraw this one day too.
Concept sketch of a "fursona"/"scalie" variant of one of my Slime Rancher slime OCs, Kingpin. Tried a frog since that feels close to a slime, but I may experiment with other species.
I don't draw frogs much, can you tell?
Doodles where I was trying to figure out how to draw anime eyes. I've gotten better at it since then, especially now that I've made sure to collect references.
Another doodle of a design concept based on an idea from someone I used to talk to. This is a "ship child" between one of their dragon OCs and the previously mentioned Kingpin (as a slime, not a frog.)
The "ship children" thing was their idea, I just liked that it meant making new character designs with aspects of both OCs.
An attempt at drawing a "realistic" version of another one of my Slime Rancher OCs, this one being a shapeshifting Tarr named Mirror. I made two versions- the regular version and a "mirror ball" alternative, then I saved a variant of the original without the color streaks because it looked neat.
I may redraw this, too, because there are many aspects I can improve on.
The art on the right is art I made years ago of a Steven Universe gemsona- the recent art is the sketch on the left, an unfinished attempt at a redesign, with better anatomy and accuracy to the Steven Universe style.
The gem itself (the stone) was designed by someone on the Steven Universe Amino, though I won't go out of my way to dig up their username just to credit them for drawing an oval that I bought with like 10 Amino coins 💀
Doodle concept explorations for my Sonic.exe interpretation, featuring some very angry Eggmen, one without an arm. Didn't quite capture what I had in mind.
Doodle of an anime-ish furry staring up at the night sky. Doodled completely on a whim, didn't plan out anything, which explains why the furry...looks the way it does, and why the pose looks awkward.
Sketch attempt to draw my OC Athens in the Sonic Adventure style (or Sonic Channel style, they're very similar.) Not happy with this, but I hope to one day draw my OC in this style- and have it look good.
Doodle done on a whim based on a random idea, text explains it.
I don't even like Jynx that much, I'm not sure why I drew this. I think I just liked some of the aspects of Jynx's design and some colors in older official art.
Conceptual design doodles of a "Pikachu mimic" fakemon, inspired by a similar idea I saw where someone drew a crab/alien/insect Pikachu mimic. I wanted to try making mine look less obviously like a Pikachu and more like its own thing that happened to be a mimic. Tail is based somewhat on the "Pikachu Mandela effect" design.
Might revisit this design eventually- hopefully I'll color it in then, to show off the mimic effect better.
Doodle of a conceptual "Tails Doll" version of my OC. The "black sclera" thing doesn't come through very clearly since it can be interpreted as blank white eyes with thick outlines. Gem antenna is just based on some colors I like.
Doodle that got too detailed. An idea I had- snakes that had evolved to mimic corpse torsos. They're short, eyeless, and can inflate their head.
May revisit this design one day, as I'm not proud of how the "inflated" one has dimension while the other looks too flat.
Simplistic sketch of an Espeon and Umbreon fusion design. I wanted to do something unique, but it came out looking like some of the usual interpretations.
I wanted to try again, and I got pretty far, but I wasn't happy with the direction of it.
Birthday gift for an internet friend. It's what I tend to imagine him as, as a character- all the elements of this design are based on either his interests, or things he's used as profile pictures before.
Doodles of Mario OC concepts. First 3 are older doodles, which I polished up a bit when I added the male Birdo and female Yoshi. Also features a concept for a stamp watermark/signature.
An attempt at a DeviantArt-styled animated emoticon, alongside shading styles I didn't use for it.
Other DA-style animated emoticons, including one meant to emulate the "rainbow seizure drugs xd random" stuff from ye olde days, and a little lineup of ones based on different flavors.
Not super proud of the rainbow one and the different flavors, but mainly because the highlights are white-based rather than being an analogous color. May revisit these.
I saw a pair of headphones with some 3D-printed attachable horns, and I thought it would be a silly thing that kind of fit Eggman, so I doodled him wearing a pair- and I added the funny™ Fortnite line, because I couldn't help myself.
Silly doodle based off of a random idea, featuring (Sonic Boom) Eggman laying down, caressing a pizza box.
I did not bother to try drawing his clothes, as I was too concerned with the posing and anatomy.
I'm pretty sure I still drew his head too big.
Some experimentation with my OC's hair. These may have led me to disregard the idea of her having a set hairstyle and just draw what feels right.
An attempt at learning how to draw some form of iridescence based on the image of the beetle, but even then, it came out looking more like copper than iridescence.
I'm still trying to learn how to render materials like this.
A doodle I made in a quick, memory-based attempt to mimic those MS Paint AMVs people used to make, mostly involving Warrior Cats and Pokemon. Was originally going to make an entire AMV in that MS Paint/Windows Movie Maker style, which I may eventually do.
I even tried to replicate the two default MS Paint shades of green from memory!
Doodles of various expressions, drawn while watching a Vargskelethor clip on repeat. This was originally supposed to be mapping out expression ideas for an animation I was considering making using the clip's audio.
This was the clip: https://youtu.be/yYrCSEMQhbk
(Imagine listening to this multiple times in a row while doodling shitpost faces 🗿 i am insane)
For fun, I had a small flag design challenge between a friend and I. The prompt he gave me was "Technocracy/flag for a country based on advancement of technological progress" (paraphrasing him slightly) and this is what I created for that.
I don't normally design flags, since I tend to not be good at it, but this turned out better than expected. Went with a futuristic design because it was the first idea I had. It works as both a horizontal flag and a vertical banner, too.
Loose attempt at replicating a specific kind of early 2010's artstyle, pulling mostly from memory. I like how this turned out. Might try replicating the style again.
Made on a whim after a morbid idea popped into my head. Based on that video of the cat roomba. I didn't quite capture the image that I had, but I tried my best without pouring too much effort into a doodle.
Explorations of a possible design and multiple possible color palettes for a Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures OC, designed after watching a few episodes that were airing on TV recently-ish and getting somewhat invested in the show.
I actually haven't watched it since, but it airs at weird timeslots which makes it hard to catch, and I don't want to binge it from a streaming service. Feels better for me to just catch it when it's on rather than having to initiate it, since I struggle with doing things I put on a mental "to-to" list.
Another doodle of my OC. Nothing too special, I just thought it came out alright. Slight style experimenting.
An edit of part of Peridot's model sheet from her debut episode, in an attempt to visualize what she would look like without her limb enhancers while keeping her original design elements (rather than being innacurately short like she is post-redemption.)
Attempt at designing a fusion of Garnet, Lapis, and Jasper, some of the gems that were once commonly accepted to be the most powerful outside of Rose and the Diamonds.
It was just an attempt, and one where I tried going for a unique design, so it's not perfect. Lots of flaws.
I tried to color-code it based on which part came from which gem.
May try again at designing this fusion.
Doodle of a Pearl design idea based off of a thought I randomly had while taking a shower. She's indigo.
(I like the color indigo. I do not like other kinds of purple as much.)
An attempt at designing a Steven Universe OC based on the style of season 1/old gemsonas, done on a whim. Didn't design her with a gemstone to base her on, nor did I come up with a name- likely would be Opalite or Turquoise. Bonus doodle features a potential weapon.
May redesign her to better fit the design aesthetics and give her a more unique body type.
Doodle explorations of lipstick, inspired by seeing Katey Sagal in Married With Children wearing shiny magenta lipstick. Also experimented with shading and trying to draw glitter.
A work-in-progress piece that I've been putting a lot of effort into, one of the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy. Hopefully will lean more into the "psuedo-3D render" style as I continue.
Sketch of a fusion design concept between "Skinny Jasper" and one of the blue quartz enemies from The Phantom Fable. I wanted to design a fusion of two gems with differently colored outfits. Not too happy with it, so I might redesign it eventually.
The fusion's name would likely be Rainforest Jasper.
Doodle of a ruby design concept, with a little extra detail added.
I wanted to see what a ruby with dark skin and red hair might look like, since other gem types have variation while all canon rubies follow the same pattern.
Ended up giving it some semblance of unique lighting and made an entire (simple) background for it, one that tries to mimic the show's style a bit.
...Well, that was basically all the art I stockpiled to share. Hopefully the post isn't unreadably long!
In the future, I'll share shorter batches of recent art, maybe make special posts where I share bits of old art, share some art made by other people that I enjoy, probably post some non-art stuff, et cetera. In the meantime, consider this a taste of who I am and what I create, visually speaking.
